Handling objects

In our exhibitions you will be able not just to see the objects, but to handle and try on replicas of them too. Touching and feeling these everyday medieval and early modern objects can shed light on how objects in the past were mobile or facilitated journeys of people or objects. It can help us understand the ways in which objects circulated and traveled long distances in the past through trade, diplomacy or spiritual journeys. Handling these objects can help you understand how we can find more about traces of possession and circulation and the ways in which their mobility in the past contributed to their value and meanings.
